PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Technical expert with comprehensive knowledge of Computer Information Systems operation and administration. Documented skills in technical systems configuration, installation, maintenance, and repair. Extensive experience in software utilization. Recognized as the person ultimately responsible for immediate resolution of critical system problems.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
- Trained in troubleshooting, diagnosis, installation, and modification of networked computer hardware and software components and programs.
- Hardware: PCs and peripheral equipment.
- Operating Systems: Windows 95/98/NT/XP/Vista
- Servers: NT/2000/2003/Exchange/SQL/Terminal/Web (IIS)
- Software: Word Processors, Spreadsheets, Databases, Graphics, Web Design and Management, E-mail Management, Diagramming, Network Troubleshooting and Management.
- Format and test system hardware, install operating systems and application software; replace boards; diagnose and correct hardware problems; install peripheral equipment; install PCs on network; install and upgrade hardware, software, and linkages for PC workstations.
- Set up, configure, use, and support Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. Use Windows utilities for diagnosing problems. Modify host files. Write batch files.
- Use computer-aided diagnostics and digital logic devices to locate malfunctions. Use testing equipment to troubleshoot equipment malfunction to system and board level.
- Provide user support for hardware, software, and operating systems.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- As Information Technology Director:
- Coordinated LAN consolidation with WAN to provide Internet/intranet access and e-mail capability to entire County Government. Consolidation significantly improved detachment efficiency and effectiveness and reduced system downtime and denial-of-service problems.
- Coordinated Homeland Security initiatives countywide concerning counter terrorism, network security, public awareness, and EOC (Emergency Operations Center) development.
- Given responsibility to provide data communications to the new Public Works facility located 15 miles into the CRIT Indian reservation with no access to the land between. Designed and implemented a wireless Point to Point using the 5.4 GHz band. Successful implementation resulted in a reliable data/voice service to a critical public agency.
- Provided critical assistance to the Arizona Superior Court when they rolled out Vista on all workstations state wide.
- Implemented a comprehensive backup strategy for all county data when there was none.
- Responsible for delivery of election results to the office of the Secretary of State
COMMUNICATIONS
- Proven record of success working one-on-one with clients, users, department heads, Board of Supervisors, and Elected Officials to clarify product capabilities and recommended equipment and systems. Responsible as final word to approve any technical purchase countywide.
- Articulate in oral communications; clear and concise in written communications and technical documentation. Orally submitted proposals and gave expert advice on actions to a Board of Supervisors during public meetings. Recognized ability to quickly generate trust and develop rapport.
